The leading South Korean Shipyard complies with Ship-owners’ highest safety standards

South Korean Samsung has just signed a new contract with JLMD Ecologic Group to equip three Container ships with the innovative Fast Oil Recovery System. The vessels, offering a capacity of 16,000 TEU, will be delivered from 2014 to CMA CGM.

The Fast Oil Recovery System reveals a key equipment for shipyards willing to respond to the most demanding ship-owners in terms of environment credentials. Equipping ships with the FOR System offers a clear competitive advantage. It is especially important at a time when ship-owners are seeking for concrete green assets to support their commercial competitiveness.

In case of an accident happens, the embedded FOR System offers connections from the ship’s upper deck to each main bunker tanks or group of tanks in order for salvage experts to recover oil and hazardous products through standardized processes. The FOR System is a certified technology. It has specific class notation issued from Bureau Véritas. The system needs no maintenance, works with any kind of liquid pollutant, and can be installed on any kind of ship, new or on retrofit.
