Marc GLODT, Commissioner of Maritime Affairs :

"The ceremony of the 15th anniversary of the Luxembourg Commission of Maritime Affairs (CAM) has been the occasion to present our Memorandum of understanding. This memorandum is the expression of our will to promote good practices within the maritime sector. Therefore we have determined common high quality objectives as well as room of improvement leading to future actions.
We recommend the shipowners to consider the equipment which contribute to reduce the risk and mitigate environmental impacts.
In that respect and on a voluntary basis, the shipowners will examine the implementation of a FOR systems (Fast Oil recovery) aboard their ships.
The Memorandum of Understanding of the Luxembourg flag conveys the spirit of excellence in which the shipping community and the CAM in particular fit today."
