Dalian Shipyard Industry Corp delivered on 14th October a new CMA CGM megabox ship fitted with the Fast Oil Recovery System (FOR System) – the anti-oil spill technology developed by JLMD Ecologic Group.

The container ship CMA CGM Elbe is the second of a series of 5 vessels of 9,200 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU), built for Chinese CIMC group, it will be chartered by CMA CGM.

Following delivery of her sistership Danube last June, the Elbe joins the growing list of latest generation megabox ships built by Chinese DSIC and set to integrate the CMA CGM Fleet.

In line with the sustainable development policy of the CMA CGM group, these ships are all fitted with a range of environmental technologies including FOR Systems.

Simple yet efficient, like all ground-breaking innovations.

Fast Oil Recovery Systems are emergency circuits which allow immediate and permanent access to a ship’s cargo and fuel tanks.

Strategically positioned access points on deck enable salvors to simply plug into FOR Systems as necessary, whatever the ship’s inclination. There is no longer a need for hull drilling.

The FOR SYSTEM eliminates the need for time-consuming and costly oil removal procedures, helping you save money while protecting the environment.
